This week Taylor Swift marked an important anniversary: it’s been one year since she released her hit “Shake It Off” and announced her latest album. Since then she’s been on a world tour with amazing surprise guests and sold out crowds. Taylor sure has had a fantastic year with 1989 and already has everyone waiting for a new album.
Starbucks made an important announcement this week regarding their most popular drink. Everyone’s favorite fall latte, pumpkin spice, will now be made with real pumpkin! This confused some people, who thought there was already real pumpkin in their drinks, but now this latte will be more natural. It’s hitting stores on September 8th, make sure to try the new and improved fall favorite!
Gillian Anderson shared a selfie from the set of The X-Files revival with her co-stars David Duchovny and Mitch Pileggi. Fans are very excited to see what this revival will be like! It’s going to air on Fox in January, make sure you check it out, because the gang’s all here!
Ed Helms, who played Andy on The Office, shared a throwback Thursday picture of him and co-stars John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, and Brian Baumgartner at the golden globes. He captioned it with one of Andy’s last lines from the finale of the hit comedy. It really brings back a lot of emotions from the finale and good memories from the nine years the show was on air.
We have less than four weeks until Lana Del Rey’s new album Honeymoon is released, and this week was huge with news from it. The singer shared her tracklist, the album cover (shot by her sister Chuck Grant) and made it available to pre-order on iTunes. With the pre-order, you get her first single “High by the Beach” and a new song, “Terrence Loves You.” Her new single is incredibly soulful and jazzy; Lana shared that it is “close to her heart” and probably her favorite song on the album. Pre-order the album today, and expect it on September 18th!

Let’s start off this week with some news about the Kardashian clan. Everyone is very excited that Kim Kardashian is expecting her second child with Kanye West, and a few days ago it seemed confirmed that she was having a boy. Not so fast. Kim took to twitter to let everyone know that she has not revealed the gender of her baby yet, so all the articles saying it’s a boy are just speculation. She’s not having twins either (though how great would that be). Guess we’ll just have to wait to hear the news from Kim herself.
The Tonys were this past Sunday, and it was a great show. Our favorite politically incorrect host Billy Eichner live tweeted about the event, and even threw in a reference to a recent scandal going on in Hollywood right now. Many people are upset that Emma Stone was cast as a half-Asian character in the movie Aloha, when the actress is not Asian at all. The rest of the cast of the movie is very white, which is surprising since they are all playing residents of Hawaii. Director Cameron Crowe has since apologized for casting a white actress.
THEY’RE BACK! Gillian Anderson (Scully) shared a picture from the set of the brand new X-Files reboot, and everyone is freaking out. The cast and crew are busy at work, putting together a handful of episodes that will premiere in early 2016. Mulder himself (David Duchovny) also took to twitter and shared a picture of his script for the first episode, though unfortunately there was no sneak peak about the plot. Stay tuned for more info on this exciting reboot.
Lorde is gracing the cover of Vogue (Australia) and decided to share some beautiful pictures from the photoshoot. This was one of them, where she looks absolutely stunning in a vintage dress and jewels. The pop sensation (who only turned 18 a few months ago!!!) is doing great recently– she’s often hanging with BFF Taylor Swift or her boyfriend of a few years, and it is rumored that she could be releasing her next album this year! If it’s anything like the last one, I’m sure it’ll be a big hit.
And finally, the Gilmore Girls reunion we’ve all been waiting for!! Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) shared an insanely cute selfie with her TV daughter Alexis Bledel (Rory) and the two look so happy to be reunited. A lot more happened at this event though; most of the cast and crew were there, including all of Rory’s boyfriends (that’s not awkward at all!) It was great seeing everyone back together, especially these two.
Do you think Kim and Kanye are having a boy or a girl? And are you excited for The X-Files reboot? Let us know in the comments or tweet us using #glamorouspaper!
While you may be sad that your favorite shows are winding down for the season, you definitely won’t be bored this summer. There are a ton of new shows premiering (plus the return of some favorites) so you will be thoroughly entertained. Here are some of the shows you should check out.
One show worth checking out just premiered last week: Wayward Pines. It centers around an FBI agent who finds himself in a very strange town with plenty of mysteries to uncover, such as how he got there in the first place. It stars Matt Dillon and Juliette Lewis. If you’re interested in the psychological thriller, it’s on Thursdays at 9:00 on Fox. Some reality/competition shows coming soon include 500 Questions, MasterChef, and America’s Got Talent.
NBC has a new crime drama coming this summer. Starring David Duchovny, Aquarius centers around a police officer in the 1960’s who is trying to catch Charles Manson. You can catch this on Thursdays at 9:00. Some additional dramas returning are Halt and Catch Fire (AMC), Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family), and Devious Maids (Lifetime). The intense crime drama Hannibal is also coming back on Thursday, June 4 at 10:00 on NBC.
Netflix has some good entertainment planned as well. One of their most popular shows, Orange is the New Black, is returning on June 12. Viewers will be able to stream all 13 episodes immediately. Netflix also has a new show planned, called Sense8. The drama has an ensemble cast (including Lost star Naveen Andrews) and a very intricate plot. It centers around a group of strangers who, after some tragedy, are mentally linked together. They now have to find each other and stay safe because they are being hunted for some unknown reason. If you’re interested in thrillers, you can catch season one on June 5.
Finally, ABC has a big new show planned: The Astronaut Wives Club. This period drama centers around the wives of astronauts during the race to get to outer space. It is based on novels, which were inspired by true stories. It looks like it’ll be filled with drama, romance, and excitement as well. You can check this out on June 18 on ABC at 8:00.

Nowadays, it seems like all anyone talks about anymore is what’s happening on their favorite tv shows. People everywhere are going crazy about all the drama on current hits, such as Scandal, The Walking Dead, or House of Cards. But what about the shows that have been off the air for a while? So many amazing shows ended years ago, and they still haven’t lost their addictiveness. Take a look below at some of the best off-air shows Netflix has to offer; you might just find your next obsession.
A plane crash. A deserted island. A diverse group of strangers. This is the basis for J.J. Abrams’s smash hit, Lost, starring Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly. Though the show aired over ten years ago, it still has a huge following today. The pilot episode begins with a bang, throwing you immediately into the chaos of a deadly plane crash. Some have survived, others have not. When it becomes clear that rescue is not coming, everyone on board must now work together in order to survive. Some of the passengers include a pregnant woman, a criminal, an Iraqi soldier, and a drug addict. This show has something for everyone. There’s action, mystery, romance, and even a little comedy. You will fall in love with each and every one of these characters, who come from all different walks of life. The only problem with Lost is that you won’t be able to stop watching.
What happens to the FBI cases that don’t have a logical solution? Agents Mulder and Scully are on the case. The X-Files was a huge hit in the 90’s and ran for nine seasons. It centers around two FBI agents, played by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who investigate cases that involve any kind of paranormal activity. The duo solves cases involving immortal serial killers, alien abductions, and even mythical creatures. This show is great for anyone who loves crime drama, science fiction, and mystery. The X-Files really pulls you in with the great chemistry between Mulder and Scully, and the haunting realization that our own government could be hiding things from us. What would you do if you discovered the secrets the United States was covering up?
Freaks and Geeks
High school social status means everything. What happens to the kids with certain labels? Freaks and Geeks realistically explores what it’s like to live with teenage pressures and high school problems. While this show only lasted one season, it certainly left an impression. James Franco and Linda Cardellini star as two “freaks” trying to deal with being the screw-ups, while John Francis Daley leads the pack of “geeks” just trying to fit in and be noticed. This show is incredibly charming and witty, and really examines what a horrible place high school can be if you’re on the wrong side. While filmed in the 90’s, it takes place in the 80’s, showing us that times may have changed, but the horror that is high school has not. Freaks and Geeks is worth the watch for anyone who felt the need to defy the cliques of high school.
Meet Michael Westen. He used to be a spy until… he got burned. What happens when you get fired from being a top secret spy? Apparently you get dumped in Miami. The hit USA network show Burn Notice is action-packed as ex-spy Michael adapts to normal life again. With a cast of very interesting characters, such as a crazy mother and an on-again/off-again girlfriend, we follow Michael as he puts his talents to use. Starring Jeffrey Donovan and Bruce Campbell, every episode involves Michael and his friends helping people with problems they can’t go to the police about. Meanwhile, Michael is on the search to find who betrayed him and got him burned. If you like explosions, car chases, and Miami, Burn Notice is definitely for you.
What do you do if you and your whole family have supernatural powers? Fight demons and save the world, of course. Charmed centers around three sisters who are modern-day witches. They live normal lives, but they also have their big secret. The show follows them as they attempt to keep their abilities private but encounter dozens of demons that are trying to kill them, making this difficult. Charmed ran for eight seasons in the early 2000’s, and is extremely likable. Starring Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs, the sisters have great, sometimes drama-filled relationships with each other. And when it comes to their love lives, dealing with demons is sometimes easier. Some of them even date the demons they are supposed to kill. Charmed is the perfect combination of action and romance.
So what do you think? Which of these shows are you going to give a try? Let us know in the comments or tweet us using #glamorouspaper!
