X-Men: Apocalypse Final Trailer

On Monday(4/25) 20th Century Fox released the final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, which is set to premier on May 27th. The trailer reveals and hints at a lot of the excitement, action, and drama we’ll get to see soon, leaving the last few seconds to tease viewers with a fan-favorite cameo.

Check out the trailer here!

In the film, the X-Men are up against their most formidable foe yet, a god who goes by the name of Apocalypse (Oscar Isaacs). The first ever mutant in the X-Men universe, Apocalypse has amassed legions of mutants and absorbed their powers to become immortal and all powerful. And to make matters worse, he’s got four “horsemen”/henchman helping him wreak havoc on the world.  #NewTestamentReference

As the trailer suggests, beloved telepath Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), is kidnapped by the Apocalypse gang, so it’s up to Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult) to recruit a new team of mutants to save the day. In come X-Men icons like Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-Mcphee), and apparently Wolverine too from what the end of the trailer suggests. Looks like our favorite clawed Canadian will be back to help the youngsters out. Let’s just hope there’s no weird Jean/Cyclops/Wolverine love triangle this time since Jean and Scott are just teenagers in this film. Fans and media experts are hoping this means the Weapon X storyline will make it into the film too.

I am so excited for May 27th. Let me know what you think of the trailer and the upcoming film. I absolutely love X-Men (best part of Marvel in my opinion) and would love to get your opinions on the films!

Nat Geo’s Favorite Earth Day Photos

It’s that time of year again, the one day almost everyone actually tries to be environmentally friendly and appreciative of Mother Nature.

To celebrate, National Geographic highlighted some of their favorite photos in the Your Shot community, a community for amateur, casual, and professional photographers to share their images with each other. The #YourShot hashtag on Twitter is an easy way for anyone to get involved and contribute to the community.

“Last year, National Geographic photographer Erika Larsen issued a call to the Your Shot community to share their favorite images of trees.”

Nat Geo assembled some of their favorites in a photo gallery.

Some of my favorites (that are not solely of trees) include:

Remember, that though Earth Day is a great excuse to recycle, conserve, and change wasteful habits, don’t limit yourself to just April 22nd to do these things! Climate change is real; and we can do so much for the world if we keep this mindset year round. Happy Earth Day everyone! Go plant a tree!

Good Night, Sweet Prince

This thursday, April 21st 2016, legendary music icon Prince died at the age of 57. Found in an elevator at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, the paramedics performed CPR to no avail and pronounced him dead at 10:07 AM. The Carver County police will continue to investigate the circumstances of his death as there is no official cause at the moment. An autopsy of the body will be performed by the Midwest regional medical examiner.

The acclaimed musician was born Prince Rogers Nelson and is famous for creating a distinctly Minneapolis sound that combines pop, synth, and new wave as well as defining the music of the 80s with hits like “Kiss” and “Purple Rain.” His music reaches millions and is loved all over the world and across generations.

Just last week, Prince’s health was put into question when his plane to Minnesota made an emergency landing to rush him to the hospital. The next day, he performed for an intimate crowd in Paisley Park with a new guitar and piano, proving he was alive and well, assuring fans to “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.” Oh the foreshadowing.

As news of his premature death broke online and in the media, floods of fans took to social media, the streets, and record stores to express their heartbreak and love for the musician who touched so many lives with his music and charisma. “Fans rushed to record stores to pick up vinyl and other Prince memorabilia. Some said the icon’s death ‘is what it sounds like when doves cry,’ a reference to his monster hit from 1984.”

President Obama also expressed his appreciation of the musician and sadness upon hearing of the untimely death.

Unbreakable Kimmy Quotes

We’re different. We’re the strong ones. And you can’t break us!
