Unbreakable Kimmy Quotes

We’re different. We’re the strong ones. And you can’t break us!

Season 2 of Netflix’s eccentric half-hour comedy, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, was just made available for streaming today.  If you haven’t binged the first season, DO IT NOW. Trust me, you’ll get cramps from all the laughing. Well, if rapid-fire jokes, over-the-top characters, and non sequiturs are your style, then you’re going to have a riot.

For those of you have watched the show (and loved it as much as I do!) but don’t want to watch the first 13 episodes again, here are 10 quotes and jokes from Season 1 to get you pumped for the binge fest.

1. “I’m pretty but tough, like a diamond. Or beef jerky in a ball gown.”

2. “Turn your resistance all the way up to ‘Ghandi’.”

3. “1996 called. It want its clothes back.” “2090 called. You’re dead and you wasted your time on Earth.”

Netflix/Via Hugo's Journey

4. “Titus, age doesn’t matter. You can die at any time.”

5. “My first wife turned 50.” “I know. And I would never do that to you.”

Netflix/Via Buzzfeed

6. “Delivering Chinese food all day can be depressing. Like when people yell out ‘Food’s here!’ as if they have a family, but I know they are alone.”

7. “I got treated better as a werewolf than I ever did as a black man. That’s messed up.”

Netflix/Via Popsugar

8. “And in your fifteen years with these women, you still didn’t learn to speak English?” “Estos pajarones no quisieron saber nada de Español, so…”

Netflix/Via Kwach

9. “Word up!”

10. “Yeah, white people invented that.”

And as you watch the second season don’t forget:

Miley’s Rendition of ‘Silent Night’ Will Get You In The Holiday Spirit

Regardless of what she has done in the past or what you think of her, the girl has talent.

You know, the former Disney Channel star that captured our hearts then went off the deep end. She’s widely known for her licking of tools and swinging from construction equipment… Ring a bell yet? The girl we’re referring to is the outrageous outfit wearing, tongue-twirling, ‘twerker,’ Miley Cyrus.   You know, sometimes we miss her, especially because she actually has talent.

The ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer recently performed a moving rendition of the classic holiday tune ‘Silent Night’ on Bill Murray’s Netflix Special, A Very Murray Christmas. Dressed in a short, red, Santa-inspired dress, poinsettia headband and fuzzy red pumps, Miley sits atop an all-white piano and sings beautifully.

Remember the time Miley was called out at the VMAs by Nicki Minaj?

This year’s special was directed by Sofia Coppola and included comedic cameos by Amy Poehler, George Clooney, Maya Rudolph, Chris Rock and other great comedians. Other musical performers included Phoenix (the band), Rashida Jones and Murray himself.

Needless to say, we want more singing from Miley and less stripping publicly with prosthetic genitals.

Check out the videos below:

The special is streaming on Netflix now!

Don’t have a Netflix account to view the entire special? At least you can check out the trailer below!

One show worth checking out just premiered last week: Wayward Pines. It centers around an FBI agent who finds himself in a very strange town with plenty of mysteries to uncover, such as how he got there in the first place. It stars Matt Dillon and Juliette Lewis. If you’re interested in the psychological thriller, it’s on Thursdays at 9:00 on Fox. Some reality/competition shows coming soon include 500 Questions, MasterChef, and America’s Got Talent.

Netflix has some good entertainment planned as well. One of their most popular shows, Orange is the New Black, is returning on June 12. Viewers will be able to stream all 13 episodes immediately. Netflix also has a new show planned, called Sense8. The drama has an ensemble cast (including Lost star Naveen Andrews) and a very intricate plot. It centers around a group of strangers who, after some tragedy, are mentally linked together. They now have to find each other and stay safe because they are being hunted for some unknown reason. If you’re interested in thrillers, you can catch season one on June 5.

Finally, ABC has a big new show planned: The Astronaut Wives Club. This period drama centers around the wives of astronauts during the race to get to outer space. It is based on novels, which were inspired by true stories. It looks like it’ll be filled with drama, romance, and excitement as well. You can check this out on June 18 on ABC at 8:00.

5 Shows to Start Watching on Netflix

Netflix is the procrastinator’s greatest friend, filled with some truly amazing shows to binge watch. However, it is hard to know what is not going to be a waste of time. Here are five shows on Netflix that are definitely worth watching.

  1. Grey’s Anatomy

The first 10 seasons of Grey's Anatomy are currently available on Netflix.
The first 10 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy are currently available on Netflix.

The First of Shonda Rhime’s mega successful show dynasty, Grey’s Anatomy will have you hooked from the beginning. The show is an emotional rollercoaster filled with drama, laughs, suspense and many life moments. Grey’s has won many awards, including a SAG award for Sandra Oh in her role as Dr. Cristina Yang and is the first glimpse into how brilliant Shonda Rhimes is at the helm of a show. Just don’t get too attached to any of the characters, this is Shonda, they might not be there for long (I’ll never get over McSteamy).

  1. Gilmore Girls

Seasons 1-7 of the hit show are currently available for streaming

The show created a frenzy when it was released on Netflix, which just goes to show how loyal and attached its fan base is. Gilmore Girls will always hold a special place in my heart. Lorelai and Rory, the mother daughter duo the show centers around, are two of the most unique characters ever. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and where they lead you will follow.

  1. One Tree Hill

You can relive all the drama by watching all nine seasons.

One Tree Hill ran for nine seasons and you can watch every minute of drama and fun on Netflix. The show catapulted Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray to stardom. I was unsure at first, but after a few episodes I could not stop watching. It is one of the best shows the CW (formerly WB) has ever put out.

  1. Friends

All 10 seasons of NBC classic are now available

Friends is one of the most popular shows Netflix has ever put up. The show is legendary having started the careers of its six main stars, including Jennifer Anniston. All 10 seasons are on Netflix and even though season one began 1994, the show is timeless for those who grew up with it and you can see the influence it had on many sitcoms we have today. So, whether you are starting it for the first time or you just want to relive the Ross and Rachel saga it is worth logging into Netflix for.

  1. That ‘70s Show

Travel to the '70s with the Cast of That '70s Show on Netflix.

What better time to watch this show now that two of the main characters are possibly married and have a baby together?! That ‘70s show is packed with laughs from the very first minute. Additionally, it is full of many young hot Ashton Kutcher moments. Not to mention the amazing talents of Mila Kunis, Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Danny Masterson, and Wilmer Valderrama. Despite the show’s setting in the ‘70s it is extremely relatable in any decade.
