Is John Mayer Done Bothering Us?

John Mayer and Taylor Swift before their feud began.
John Mayer and Taylor Swift before their feud began.

John Mayer has long been famous for his interviews, often sticking his foot in his mouth or coming off as a douche bag. However, he recently gave an interview to MSNBC that many are seeing as a sign that he has changed his ways.

In the interview, Mayer describes himself as a “recovered ego maniac” and even praises acts of Taylor Swift, who he has famously feuded with since they broke up in early 2010. Mayer praised Swift’s decision to take her music off of popular music site Spotify, saying “Artists need the person with the loudest voice to speak for them.”

However, not all of Mayer’s words proved that he was reformed. He made the statement that ”nothing bothers [him] anymore” when referring to the success of other performers, but sounded slightly bitter.

“There are going to be times when I make music as popular or empirically valuable as [Swift’s] in terms of making pop music that won’t sell as many copies and I’m fine with that. Look, if I save a baby from a burning building and Kanye [West] saves a baby from a burning building, Kanye’s going to get more Google News hits. And I’m fine with it.”

He didn’t sound entirely fine with it. Additionally, Mayer went on to describe himself as extremely talented and stated during the interview that everyone knew he was going to be successful and his stardom made total sense. However, he did state he hit rock bottom due to an intellectual downfall. Additionally, He claimed that he is not a womanizer and never was. This was a stark contrast from the way he has been portrayed in the media after relationships with a bevy of famous women including Katy Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift.

It was talking about these relationships to the media that got Mayer into trouble in the first place. In an infamous interview with Playboy Magazine, Mayer described Simpson as “sexual napalm” and compared her to crack cocaine. Additionally, he detailed Aniston’s reluctance to use technology. There is no greater media sin than dissing America’s beloved Friend Jennifer Anniston publicly and he caught a lot of backlash for his comments. It remains to be seen whether John has reformed or will continue to give revealing interviews about his love life.

image

In this weekly segment, we will be highlighting one Men’s fashion attire or accessory. This week is all about kicking back in versatile kicks. I found this pair of vintage inspired, wing-tipped, black casual shoes while I was out doing some shopping for myself and I couldn’t pass them up. The TOMS Brogue Casual Shoe will take you anywhere from that business meeting, class presentation, first date, night in with the guys or night out on the town.

Some of the style features include the classic wingtip detailing, leather welt with cable stitching, denser EVA rubber outsole for traction, perforated insole for breathability, elastic tongue straps to wear without shoe laces, and a leather TOMS flag tongue logo.
In addition to the TOMS “One for One” promise for every purchase of shoes a child in need receives a pair, TOMS has made their own spin on “No Shave November.” Many men ditch their razors to grow out their mustaches for the month of November to raise awareness for mens prostate cancer and other mens health issues. Each pair of shoes comes with a signature mustache to show support.
This shoe is comfortable, fashionable and more importantly affordable.

You can dress these shoes up with a pair of chinos, button-up and blazer for a daytime professional look, or you can rock a more casual look with some slim fitting jeans and a leather jacket. Either way these shoes are for sure to make heads turn.

Omarion Ft. Chris Brown & Jhene Aiko “Post To Be” Official Video

Is anyone else getting tired of those same five songs playing over and over on your favorite radio station?  I mean Taylor Swift, I love you and all, but I’m ready to fill in the Blank Space and replace it with a new hot song to blast for the spring time.  Glamorous Paper is here to help spice up your music life by introducing Omarion’s brand new “Post To Be” music video!  Check it out!

We see some familiar faces busting their signature moves in the new music video released by Omarion featuring Chris Brown and Jhene Aiko.  This video showcasing the song “Post To Be” comes to us as our first peak to his fourth studio album. After signing with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group label, Omarion released the new album Sex Playlist on December 2, 2014.

His video backdrop blows our mind.  How does he make something so minimal look so good?  The white backdrop created a very sleek chic setting but then the set explodes  with bright red pops of color.  For the most part we remain focused on the three main performers front and center in the video. Jhene Aiko is rocking a 90’s inspired outfit looking oh-so-cool.  Her striped crop top, combat boots and plaid shirt tied around her waist create a very hip, grunge vibe that fits perfectly with the tone of the video.  But does her dancing stand up against Breexy and Omarion?  We see a little bit of stiffness in Jhene, our pick for who the female appearance should have been goes out to Princess Ciara (that girl can really dance!).  Chris Brown and Omarion rock very stylish Timberland boots keeping their dance moves in sync with the song.  The video compliments the smooth beat of “Post To Be” and completely puts us head over heels for Omarion.  We know this song is going to blow up and we can’t wait to be the first to bump it in the car.  Be the first of your friends to discover the music video and song and watch it here!  Let us know what you think with the #GlamorousPaper on Twitter or comment below!
