The Cast of Gilmore Girls will be reuniting eight years after the show ended.

I grew up with Gilmore Girls, every time I hear anything about it or its main actors I am all over it. So, obviously, I have been following everything about the upcoming reunion. However, the best part of the reunion came when it was announced that four more cast members would be join and it will be streamed online.

Gilmore Girls was created by Amy Sherman-Paladino and ran for seven seasons beginning in 2000. The show centered around mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore and their relationships with family, friends, boyfriends and the other members of the quaint small town Star’s Hollow. The show acquired a devout fan following throughout its run and there have been many requests for a reunion or future movie.

Fans got their wish, partially, when it was announced that a reunion would take place at the ATX television festival in Austin. It was originally announced that Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) and Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) would be at the festival with Sherman Palladino, Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), and Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester). After the original announcement I was insanely excited to hear that there would be a reunion. However, I would be lying if I said I was not a little disappointed that Scott Patterson (Luke Danes) was not going to be there and that the only boyfriend of Rorys coming back was Dean. Don’t get me wrong, Jared Padalecki is great, but Dean was the worst of Rory’s boyfriends. He was clingy and annoying, so I was really hoping that he would not be the only one (Logan or Jess would be better).

The original announcement was followed by the announcement that Eliza Well (Paris Gellar, one of the best characters) would be joining the panel. Additionally, Scott Patterson (yes!), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Keiko Agena (Lane Kim), Yanic Truesdale (Michel Gerard), Liz Torres (Miss Patty), and John Cabrera (Brian Fuller) would also be returning.

One of the most exciting announcements happened recently though, when it was announced that Matt Czuchry (Logan Huntzberger) would also be traveling to Austin. I am totally team Rory and Logan and still bitter about how that last episode ended in regards to them. So I am definitely happy that he will be joining the panel. What makes it even better is the conference is now available for streaming. It is no longer essential to travel to Austin and fight the crowds to see the reunion. Joining the reunion will also be Danny Strong (Doyle), Todd Lowe (Zach) and Jackson Douglas (Jackson). The only ones not joining are Melissa McCarthy (Sookie St. James), Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano, I really rooted for him too), and Adam Brody (Dave, I am still upset his character left the show). The festival runs from June 4-7 and the Gilmore Girls panel will be the main event. Here’s hoping they announce a movie during it.
